چکیده

The present study aimed to analyze the live weight (LW) and some body measurements estimate LW of lambs in five different meat-type sheep breeds reared same flock under intensive conditions. A total 202 head lambs, including both genders Kivircik (K), Bandirma (B), Karacabey Merino (KM), Hampshire Down x crossbreed (HM), Ramlic (R), were conducted this study. Birth weights ranged between 3.94-5.07 kg those affected significantly by breed birth types (P<0.001). effect sex was clearly seen with weaning period; males 2.61 heavier than female importance differences on chest circumference (CC) increased as grew older. On other hand, had a significant all at pre- post-weaning period (P<0.01 P<0.001); however, did not length (BL) pre-weaning (P>0.05). In contrast, type BL CC decreased older results regressing show that very highly (P<0.001) correlated (r=0.682–0.892). highest correlations observed (r=0.802-0.892) B, KM, R lambs. These suggest using correction factor has great benefit breeds, such withers height are used KM effectively.
